Broadworks Release 25 Availability and End of Maintenance for BroadWorks Release 22.
Release 25 of the Cisco BroadWorks software is planned to be generally available in August, 2022. In accordance with our maintenance policy, this would signal the End of Maintenance (EOM) for BroadWorks Release 22 at the end of July 2022.
Note that the Release 25 version of the Application Server is “Release Independent” which means:
● There will generally be a monthly release of the complete Application Server software binary.
● The naming convention of the monthly releases will incorporate “R25” through July of 2024 to have a timeline for the N-2 support of R23.
● The monthly release will not be patchable; changes will generally be incorporated in the next monthly release.
● New features are introduced in monthly releases as they are available.
(Note that all other BroadWorks servers were already following the “Release Independent” model)
As always, customers should make sure the upgrade plans for their BroadWorks systems keeps them running the latest release, or at the very least, a fully supported release. This is important to ensure that systems are maintained with the most competitive features, latest security and platform updates.
