CSCvn13119 | MegaSAS.log File in / Directory on APIC Not Rolling Over Causing Disk to Fill |
On Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) units the MegaSAS.log file grows to a very large size and the system reports fault F1527, which states that 75% or more of the unit's storage is in use.
Fault F1527 can indicate that an internal log file is not being rotated correctly. In releases listed in the Affected Release column in the Products Affected table, there is a known issue where the MegaSAS log is not rotated properly.
If an APIC is affected by this issue, the APIC will report fault F1527 as highlighted in this example:

Customers should upgrade to Release 3.2(6i), 4.0(2c), or any release thereafter, and truncate the old log file only if you see fault F1527. It is recommended that you truncate the log file before you complete the software upgrade.
Contact the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to have them log in as root to complete the truncation of the log file.
In later releases with the fix, the log file will be taken care of automatically.
The procedure to truncate your log file is as follows:
Note: TAC must log in as root user.
[root@APIC01 /]# cd / [root@APIC01 /]# echo > MegaSAS.log
