CSCwi62873 | extremely large tech-support due to TimesTen issues |
Cisco BroadWorks Application Server Release 2023.10_1.283 is no longer available for download due to an issue with Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database (TimesTen) 18.1.
Under some circumstances, the TimesTen database becomes invalidated, which causes the Provisioning Server process on the Cisco BroadWorks Application Server to run out of memory.
When this issue occurs, the Provisioning Server process restarts a few times before eventually shutting down.
Evidence of process restarts will appear in this log file, /var/broadworks/logs/appserver/provisioningcontainerpmdXX.log, as shown in the following example:
2024/02/28 13:08:59:Setting provisioning container's effective state to: INTROUBLE 2024/02/28 13:08:59:provisioning with process id 28890 has terminated 2024/02/28 13:08:59:death Alarm Sent 'bwPMProvisioningDeath 4 42 1' 2024/02/28 13:09:00:Restart attempt 1
Workaround
Revert to or remain on a Cisco BroadWorks Application Server release earlier than Release 2023.10_1.283.
Solution
Upgrade to Cisco BroadWorks Application Server Release 2023.10_1.284 or later: BroadWorks Application Server - Software Download.
